It's easy to conflate our identity with our activity and define our worth based on our what we do. If you measure your value by how successful you are, what happens when you fail? In most cases, this is when depression and hopelessness set in. God did not intend for use to be defined by our actions, but by His. That's not to say that our actions are unimportant. On the contrary! Our actions are a result of our beliefs. What we believe about ourselves and about God shine through our actions.
